 The legislation which created the Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program was signed on January 2, 2005. The law's intent is to make it possible for every four year old in Florida to participate in a program which prepares him/her for kindergarten and also builds a foundation for educational success.
Special Angels Early Learning Center is a certified VPK provider and as such we follow all the guidelines of the program. These include instructor qualifications, classroom ratios, and licensure. Our program focuses on early literacy using age appropriate curriculums, interactive play, arts and crafts, and outdoor play. Our curriculum meets or exceeds state performance standards. VPK students at Special Angels Early Learning Center also have an opportunity to worship every Wednesday in our chapel. We provide a free school year program of 540 instructional hours, from 9:00am to 12:00pm. We offer a ‘wrap around care' program from 6:30 am until 6:00 pm at a reasonable weekly rate for working parents. There is absolutely no charge for the VPK instructional program.
